Why Tile Cleaning is Difficult

Every homeowner knows that regular mopping, home tile cleaners and home grout cleaning methods just don’t do the trick, especially if you’re trying to eliminate stubborn dirt that has settled on tile surfaces or deep into grout lines.

What makes tile cleaning and grout cleaning so difficult? Dirt and contaminants build up over time, making your tiles look dull, and causing grout to darken and appear discoloured. Home cleaning methods simply can’t get at the built-up, ground-in dirt that has settled in hard-to-reach places. Dirt trapped in the pores of tile and grout is especially difficult to remove with traditional cleaning solutions.

Grout creates harmful health effects if not cleaned properly as harmful microbes, dirt, grease, stains, and mold can accumulate in it resulting in it resulting in foul odours and deteriorating indoor air quality. Substances penetrate the tiny grout pores making thorough cleaning extremely difficult.

Sometimes the surface looks clean but it contains unseen filth that not only affects the brightness of the floor but can also lead to grout cleaning and maintenance problems. Tile and grout cleaning becomes more difficult and challenging the longer the floor is neglected. Grout is difficult to clean and requires extra care and special tile and grout cleaning equipment; unclean tiles and stained grout mars the entire appearance of the flooring.

Unclean tile and grout can also cause many health hazards or health problems due to the continuous invasion of microorganisms on the surface, resulting in various allergies and serious diseases. Therefore, it is very necessary to protect, maintain, and preserve the tiles and keep them looking great, and for a hygienic environment.

The speed of cleaning up spills and stains are also important when cleaning tiles.  Don’t let that grape juice take hold and soak into the tile and or likely the grout, clean up as soon as the spill occurs.  Take the time to cleaning your tile really well before attempting to seal, you may have to go as far as using a poultice for removing stains when cleaning natural stone tile.  Going the extra mile before sealing will go a long way to make tile cleaning an easy maintenance task for the life of your tiles.

Cleaning tile floors is not especially difficult – compared to cleaning a stone or hardwood floor of the same size, cleaning ceramic tile floors might easily be called easy, as regards the effort expended and the complexity involved. However, going about the task sloppily will only increase the difficulty of it, so you might want to go by it this way, at least to begin with.
